Whitestone’s Fuchsia Creek Feta, made from cow’s milk, is mild, fresh and slightly salty, and leaves a tangy aftertaste.
Whitestone’s Fuchsia Creek Feta is a recipe that has been developed by our cheese makers. When the pressed curds are submerged in a salted brine it is only for a short time, therefore our version is a fresh low salt feta cheese that is smooth and just a little bit crumbly.
Being a low salt feta, the cheese holds it’s fresh full cream milk flavor, giving it a unique point of difference, and showcasing the premium milk that is used to produce this cheese, which is all sourced from around North Otago.
It is named after the small farming district of Fuchsia Creek which is approximately 32km inland from Oamaru, where green rolling hills merge into the tussocks of the high country.
