Duntroon - Goat Milk Cheese

Duntroon - Goat Milk Cheese

A semi-hard goat cheese variety that is aged in a navy blue wax. It has a compact ivory pate which produces a subtle delicate taste with a sweet goat milk finish.

Delicate when young it ages well retaining its freshness.

It is aged for a minimum of eight or nine months.

It is named after Duntroon, a small rural village situated on the Maerewhenua River which flows from Danseys Pass. It is just 35 minutes inland from Oamaru up the stunning Waitaki Valley.

Match with...

  • Sauvignon Blanc, German or Belgium wheat beer or ale.
  • Serve at room temperature with plain crackers on your cheese board. Also an excellent addition to a green salad, filo parcels or to be added to a quiche. Matches well with a pomegranate fruit paste.
